Press Release 18th July 2011

We are delighted to announce that, by popular demand, Joan of Arc a Musical  will have a second run of performances in High Wycombe this autumn in the newly refurbished Arts Centre in Desborough Road.  "The Arts Centre, in what was St Johns church, is an exciting venue for us as the simple gothic style architecture  is evocative of the Middle Ages, where our story is set.  An ideal place to stage five more performances of Joan of Arc". Said Mark Britton, the show's director.   The original cast  of 58 have all stepped forward to take part.

Press Release 7th November 2010

Audiences in High Wycombe were bowled over by the first run of Joan of Arc a Musical this week.  Every performance was a sell-out.  This amazing first week was capped by a standing ovation.   Joan of Arc, played by Sarah Coope, delighted audiences with her singing and acting in this thrilling production.  "I never expected to see a production to West End standards in a church in High Wycombe" was a typical audience reaction.  The show was an intoxicating mixture of catchy tunes, first class acting, special effects and stirring music wrapped up in a gripping story.  "What we have seen here is only the beginning for Joan of Arc" said writer and Producer Bob Davis.

Press Release. 12 October 2010

Joan of Arc a Musical  to Premier in High Wycombe

An exciting new musical about Joan of Arc is being performed in High Wycombe from 3-6th November 2010 at

All Saints Church.

At 16 years old Joan of Arc led the army of France to victory over the English.  At 19 she was captured

and burned at the stake. The victories of Joan of Arc and her inspiration forged France into a nation

for the first time.

The Musical’s Director Mark Britton said ‘We wanted to use All Saints Church because it is a medieval

building which was in use at the time of Joan of Arc. Also, the Church in those days was an important

sponsor of the performing arts and it seemed right to remake that connection, particularly as the

heroine of the story was made a saint.’

Mark has produced and directed many musicals including  Jesus Christ Superstar, The Hired Man,

Godspell, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Joan of Arc a musical ©  will use young and talented actors and musicians in what promises to be a

spectacular show.  The production will be filmed for television.

Joan of Arc a musical © is written and produced by Robert Bromley Davis with music and Direction

by Mark Britton

“Whatever thing men call great, look for it in Joan of Arc, and there you will find it.”     Mark Twain.
